Water conserving

“Water conserving” in horticulture refers to the use of films and packaging aimed at reducing water consumption in crop production. The goal is to use water resources more efficiently while promoting sustainability, environmental concerns and economic efficiency. A great example is mulching: Applying mulch films to the soil around plants helps retain moisture and reduce water evaporation. This reduces the frequency and amount of irrigation water needed.
Water conservation is critical given the increasing pressure on water resources and the need to promote sustainable agriculture and horticulture.
